Locke And Key Web Series Season 3 Episode No 6 Review

Episode Review

Locke and Key Season 3 Episode 6 sees Locke escape from the Locke house. Bode is still out there... but there's a problem. It turns out that Gideon doesn't actually have all the keys, so the portal doesn't work. He feels that they still have a key to collect, so he sends Gideon Bolton off to question the historian (Josh) about Nina's whereabouts.

Sure, they're not in Locke's house right now, but Josh doesn't know about keys or magic either. Bolton shoots him and takes Jamie hostage.

Meanwhile, the ghost talks to Bode Chamberlain and tries to find a way out of the cemetery. Sam is also there, trying to atone, but Bode demands that he leave. That is, until Chamberlain encourages him to follow and tell Sam about how he helped their family earlier.

So Bode goes to the well. Apologizing for what happened between them, Sam talks about the past. He is proud, admitting that he used the birds to help Kinsey find the Angel Key. As a result, Bode decides to do the same and, with Sam's guidance, enchants the birds.

Kinsey and Tyler are picked up by Rufus, they all discuss the different keys and how to fix it. Rufus thinks they can use the Timeshift button to go back in time and stop everything, but Ty is totally against it. Instead, they come up with an alternative plan.

Now the gist of this plan is that they intend to use Bolton as bait so that Bode can temporarily pass through the Ghost Door and possess his body. Hilariously, the Boltons go in at gunpoint with Jamie in exchange for taking the kids captive.

They are both taken to the Key House, where Tyler makes his play to Gideon about the last key being stuck in the Ghost Plane, which can only be accessed by the Ghost Key. Ty tells Gideon it's the safest place for it, and he in turn sends Bolton off to get it.

Nina, Josh and Boltan

Back home, the injured Josh is taken to the hospital. Nina follows him and promises him everything, including how Gideon came back and that she will open this portal to another world. Ironically, Josh is completely okay with all of this and believes him.

As Bolton wanders around the Ghost Plane, Ellie and Nina both head up to the Key House to stop this enemy. He manages to return to his previous position and slide down the chimney.

However, Rufus shows up and he ends up being held at knifepoint by Gideon. Ellie promises that the Captain will tell her exactly where the key is in exchange for letting her go. Gideon agrees, where he learns that the key is actually in Gordie Sean's head.

James Bolton returns and he holds the others at gunpoint, locking them in a closet. But when Gideon and Ellie leave, he lets them go. He admits he's not Bolton - it's actually Sam who's in possession of his body!

Dramatic Turn

Locke and Key return in another dramatic turn of events as Bode now returns in his own body and Sam returns in Bolton's. As Gideon is desperate to get his hands on the final key, things are set to explode in a dramatic upheaval in the final few episodes of this season.

Some of the acting in this episode isn't great (namely Nina's acting when she runs away at the beginning, it felt really forced), and the character arcs have been pretty lacking this entire season. Ultimately, most of the drama here comes from characters making stupid decisions or giving exposition before they leave.

Considering it's the last season, it seems the magic has disappeared from the show and we're now on our way to the finish line. Can it end at this height? We have to wait and see!
